This trap is the best. Excellent for trapping feral cats. We have had great success.

    Cage Trap

Basic design of cage trap is good, but needed a few small modifications to work well. The fastening clips holding the end sections in a mounted condition needed bending slightly to hold well. Otherwise hooked clips were too easy to unhook, and the trap would easily collapse. Trigger mecanism needed altering. Arm sections were too long so that the flat section on one would rest on the round section of the other making it hard to set. Would spring at the slightest disturbance. Needed to be shortened. Now working well.

Hi. Thank you for your comments regarding this product. Happy the modifications worked for you. We do find though that the traps do work without having to make modifications, but thanks for your feedback.

    It's good while it lasts

So bought this trap and it worked awesome for big rats however it is a pity the metal rod that keeps the doors open is not permanently fixed. It came off and got lost. NiceBuys tell me they don't sell a replacement so that just useless now. I have tried to adapt a wire but doesn't work.

We sell replacement parts on alot of our products but as these come as a sealed unit, we don't carry spares. It is unfortunate that you dropped the metal bar and couldn't locate it. I hope you were happy with the offer of a great discount on a replacement one for you. Cheers, Vicki

    Great Trap

I run Predator Free West Melton & in my opinion this is the best trap on the market by a long way, it catches everything, I have modified it slightly which definitely made a difference.
Modification 1 - finer mesh on the side of the cage next to the tread plate (stops something reaching through & touching plate) just mesh secured with plastic cable ties.
Modification 2 - extend tread plate 50mm either end, very simple holes are already in the tread plate (huge difference)
Setting is very simple: remove end plates, hold two bar together in position, slot in end plates, done 👍
    Very easy to assemble
I’ve just ordered & received another 4 traps yesterday.
I’ve had the first trap almost 12 months there is a little rust mainly behind the cage clips it’s like anything left out in the elements (maintenance) I just spray on a little peanut oil, I don’t use mineral oils on traps.
It’s also incredible value for money
Communication from NiceBuys is also fantastic, great to deal with.
    PS I don’t work for NiceBuys 🤣

Thanks John for the great feedback - and information for how you are using these really popular traps. Great to hear what works for you, versus customers who find that there is no modification needed.

    Seem to be ok

Setting the doors is fiddle, maybe the rod should be enclosed so that it is more easier to set the doors.
The idea is good. Caught a mature ferret the first night.
After 3 weeks out in the bush there are rust spots showing up a bit disappointing

Please remember that we do have warranty periods on all our products - should you need this. Cheers, Vicki
